This season of The Challenge assembles 32 contestants from MTV's The Real World, Road Rules, The Challenge, and Are You the One?, as well as Big Brother and MTV UK in Souzhou, China for an ultimate showdown. They will be split into two teams: the OGs and the Outsiders. Meet the OGs; contestants from The Challenge's pioneer shows: Real World and Road Rules (with some Fresh Meat and Bloodlines thrown in as well). And our Outsiders: contestants from Are You the One?, Big Brother, and MTV UK. These two teams will battle it out to see who's the best. Will our OGs prove that they still have will it takes? Or will the Outsiders shine and prove that they're the future of The Challenge?

In the first Challenge, the competitors will race to become the Team Captains of the first challenge. However, the last six players will be eliminated. Multiple Challenges like this will occur throughout the season.
Each contestant will compete in challenges, followed by elimination rounds known as "The Castle". The season will start off with 3 teams of 12 -- Red vs. Blue vs. Grey (chosen by the six captains). The winning team of the challenge will be safe from elimination, and the losing teams will be eligible for the Castle. The winning team will decide both opponents of each gender. The winner stays, while the loser goes home.

In this season of The Challenge, 26 of some of the biggest game changers are assembled in Rome to compete for a share of $1 million. Throughout the entire season, each player has an individual bank account. Each player will compete in numerous challenges followed by elimination rounds known as "The Colosseum". The top three males and females of each challenge will earn money. First place will earn $3,500, while second and third will earn $2,000 and $1,000 respectively.
